Our Live Nativity Scene is now in its 40th Year...
"And the Lord added daily those who were being saved."                      - Acts 2:47b

Welcome to Michelle D. who was baptized on January 15th!
For our Members: This is YOUR page! if you have a story or photos you would like to share please give
them to Terri and we will feature them here.
The MVA Church of Christ
has been putting on the
Live Nativity for 40
years now. This will also
be the 30th year for our
Live Tomb Scene.

Many volunteers make this community outreach possible by standing watch in the cold for one-hour shifts, during one of the busiest weeks of the year - the week before Christmas.
Forest, the donkey, has now been
standing watch in the Nativity for ten
years. In years past we have also had lambs born during the watch.

No one really knows the date of the birth of Jesus, but we still honor Him by remembering on December 25th.  We are known around town as "the church with the Live Nativity Scene."  Thank you to all who have worked so hard to make this possible.

Held from December 21st - 23rd from 6-9 p.m. each evening, the Nativity Scene gives us a small glimpse into a great event.  Frances L., and now her husband, Dennis, oversee this event every year, with a lot of help from Tim F. and Ronda U., who supply the live sheep and donkey.
Christmas Food Bank
was a Joint Effort...

Last December 21st, the volunteers from the Kirkpatrick Church of Christ joined forces with our own volunteers to hand out Christmas boxes from the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

The Marion Star sent a report to take a photo of the event. The photo and cutline story are shown below left.
Many thanks to Margaret for all the photos she provides for this website.
If it weren't for her efforts, this would be a pretty dull place.

Churches hand out food
A couple of young volunteers carry food out to vehicles for the Kirkpatrick Church of Christ food pantry, which handed out boxes of food to some 200 families Wednesday at the Mount Vernon Avenue Church of Christ. The two churches work together in helping area families with locally donated food and food from the Mid Ohio Food Bank. The Mount Vernon church was scheduled to distribute food later in the day. The Kirkpatrick church handed out food to 60 senior citizens earlier. From October to november, the number of families receiving food from the Kirkpatrick paantry has risen from 268 to 368.
